Electronic Arts said goodbye to the director of Battlefield

Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the Halo series and director of the new Battlefield game, has left Ridgeline Games and Electronic Arts.
Among the latest game news, we learned that Marcus Lehto has left Electronic Arts. He joined the company two years ago to direct the new Battlefield game, which is being developed by Ridgeline Games. He recently removed all references to Battlefield and Ridgeline Games from his Facebook account.
At this time, we do not know if Lehto left Electronic Arts himself or if he was fired with the closing of Ridgeline Games. After the unsuccessful release of Battlefield 2042 in late 2021, the Seattle-based Ridgeline Games team began developing new story experiences in the Battlefield world. There is no word on the status of these projects at the moment, but Lehto posted a picture of Ridgeline Games and its staff earlier this month, and it looks like everything is going well.
Markus Lehto started his professional career in the video game industry in 2000 by joining Studio Bungie. He was at Bungie until 2012 and worked on Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, and Halo: Reach. He then co-founded V1 Interactive with a number of former Bungie members and was its president and director, but the studio was shut down after the unsuccessful release of Disintegration. Later, he joined Ridgeline Games, which he has now left.
