The timeline of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree coincides with the main story

Director Elden Ring shared details of the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack storyline and weapons.
FramSoftware promises Elden Ring players an exciting adventure into the darkness of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack to introduce them to new mysteries of the legends of The Lands Between. Now, the director of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has confirmed that finishing the story of this expansion pack will not affect the events of the main story.
Speaking to Famitsu, Miyazaki noted that the timeline of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC story is contemporaneous with the main narrative and will not take players into the past or future. Players must first defeat the two bosses Radahn and Mohg to access the contents of this expansion pack. Entry into the Land of Shadow will then be possible through a rotting arm sticking out of the cocoon, which many believe to be Mikaela's.

Director Elden Ring went on to share more details on the new weapons in the upcoming expansion pack: “First of all, we're adding royal weapons to the game, including the great Japanese sword called the Daito and the reverse hilt sword. In addition, we have prepared different and newer weapons; For example, I can mention the monk's fighting style or the use of a dual shield to combine defense and attack. Throwing daggers and other throwable weapons are also on the way. "Even if you've used all the weapons from the original game, we think you'll enjoy fighting them again."
FramSoftware has confirmed that the Elden Ring expansion pack Shadow of the Erdtree will include eight types of weapons and more than 10 new boss fights. This DLC will be released on June 21, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 , PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series S is released.
