Hidetaka Miyazaki has just announced that FromSoftware currently has no plans to make an Elden Ring 2 game or another expansion pack for the first version.
As one of the best video games in history, Elden Ring has been a huge success for the FromSoftware studio, having sold 23 million copies. Therefore, it is expected that in the future we will see a sequel to this acclaimed work. However, Hidetaka Miyazaki , head of FromSoftware studio and director of the Elden Ring game, recently announced that they currently have no plans to make another expansion pack or a sequel for this game.
So, after the release of Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, we shouldn't expect Elden Ring 2 to be made for several years. In a recent interview with Japan's IGN, Miyazaki confirmed that while he doesn't see the Shadow of the Earthtree expansion pack as the end of the Elden Ring story, there won't be any further DLC or a sequel to the Elden Ring after its release, meaning that we should Let's wait for a while to see what fate awaits this collection. He said in this regard:
"I don't want to say it's the end. This is because I don't think we need to eliminate the possibilities of the future and the good ideas that may come up in the future. However, at this point, no other DLC or Elden Ring 2 is considered. "Even if this expansion pack isn't the full end of the story, I think this DLC will be a big break."
It looks like the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack is going to bring a huge experience for Elden Ring fans . Studio Framsofter mentions this work as the biggest DLC it has made, and we are going to see new areas and 10 new boss fights in it. This add-on package will be released on June 21, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X platforms. Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will be available for $40.
