The Star Wars strategy game has not been canceled
By publishing a new tweet, Bit Reactor confirmed that the Star Wars strategy game is still in development.
The video game industry is going through tough times; Because in recent weeks and months, thousands of employees in this industry have been laid off, some studios have been completely closed, and a number of projects and live-service games, such as the first-person shooter game Star Wars Mandalorian by Electronic Arts and Twisted Metal by Firesprite, have been canceled.
Bit Reactor confirmed in a tweet that the Star Wars strategy game has not been canceled. Shortly after its founding in 2022, Beat Reactor teamed up with Respawn Entertainment to develop this game. There aren't many details about the project, but we do know that the former Civilization developer is at the helm.
The Star Wars strategy game is probably a long way from release, but it is assumed that it is in a better state than the rest of the games; As a result, it has not been canceled like other works of Electronic Arts studios. Bit Reactor Studio said: “It's been a tough week for the games industry, and especially for us as we've been closely involved with the rest of the Respawn team. But for information, we must say that we are working with all our strength and our game has not been affected by the news of last week."
Electronic Arts wants to stop developing games such as Star Wars that it does not own. A third version of Star Wars Jedi is in development, but this will probably be the end of it. Electronic Arts plans to focus more on its own IPs and has started by laying off 700 employees.
